BMW Club Gold Coast - Secretary’s Report AGM February 2022

Our club members have enjoyed many good outings in the last year.

We started with a breakfast at Salacia Waters Café in January. We did a drive to Flutterbies for lunch and held our AGM.

Our club was invited to Bruce Lynton BM Service on a Saturday morning, where we were given a workshop tour and explanation about the race cars that the workshop was preparing for the Bathurst 6 Hour, followed by a lovely morning tea.

We visited the Headmaster’s Cottage at Beechmont and enjoyed the stunning scenic drive.

Our drive day down the Lions Road was well attended, with a stop at the Border Loop Lookout. Lunch was at the Commercial Hotel in Kyogle.

Our drive to the Panorama Motor Museum was very interesting and lunch at the Roadvale Hotel, where we were made every welcome by the staff. Rainer was given a bottle of wine from the staff who judged his car being the best.

Our Christmas in July was held at The Mountain Manor after a nice drive. Our club does enjoy the food and hospitality of this venue. This was a very well attended event with 36 members attending.

We did a very different route to finish at Harrigan’s Inn for lunch, the venue was nice and service was quick.

Our drive to Kooralbyn Valley Resort took us through some beautiful countryside, where we enjoyed a buffet lunch at the Resort.

The Drive to Mercure Hotel at Clear Mountain was a lovely day.  We had a nice morning tea at the Gap Shopping Centre before driving to Clear Mountain. We do enjoy nice food with stunning views.

Our final event for the year was our Christmas Dinner at Currumbin Sanctuary. The venue looked lovely with table decorations. The wandering wildlife Barking Owl was a highlight, she was so beautiful.

Raffle prizes were drawn, a nice ending to our club ‘s year.

Our Club was asked to submit some pictures and information to BMW Group Classic recently, who are producing a book. We do hope that we are included.

This coming year we are celebrating our 30th birthday in July and we would like to do something special.

If anyone has some different ideas for events, this would be appreciated.
